Eyeliner-not a fasion trend

August 5, 2004

Lets talk eyeliner, those markings that have tribal cousins
as far back as the dinosaur age. Markings that say who we
are and what we belong to. As a society in the United
States and Europe and much of Asia now, the beauty
standards have pretty much become standardized. In some
parts of the world other attributes mark the desired look.
Big women, tall women, shaved headed women, pale women,
skinny women and women with huge piercings and markings and
tattoo's on their necks and chins. They are the hotties of
their location. In the western world cosmetic companies
market cosmetics, they are always having to be replaced,
over and over and over again.
Cosmetic tattooing has come of age and is widely
accepted. Eyeliner is probably the best age defiant
procedure available. Keep the color where is makes a
difference on the up side. Who wants it on your pillow
case, your husbands shirt or runnng down your face at the
mvie theatre. Eyeliner is not a fasion trend, it has
indeed been in style longer than any other garment or
hairstyle. The roots go deep. It is as necesarry as
lingerie and a good fitting bra, lets keep it all in place
now. Those whispy lines that seem to lift and elevate the
eye to new level of wow can never be duplicated by topical
cosmetics. Its a wow to be had.
What if I want to change it? No one changes properly
applied eyeliner. Its a cultural pivot point and it will
never go away. As the beauty that came before us, we will
lead on to always be bigger and better, reinvent the wheel.
