When this line first appeared, I read through it. I have been in an abusive situation, and managed to get myself free of it. I didn't want to come on here because it brings back memories and bad feelings.
Then I received a phone call on Sunday, informing me of the death of one of my clients.
She first became involved with her husband at the age of 13. He was her riding trainer. By the time she was 17 she was married to him. There were many years of control and abuse. She never said anything to me, however many people who knew him stated he was an abuser and very controlling. At age 50, she finally managed to leave. 2 weeks ago, he went to her house to get her back. He took a gun with him. Somehow during his time there ....."he" told police, she got his gun from him and shot herself. (sure)
I do not believe for one minute she killed herself. At her funeral, the greiving audience was told that she was now in Hell for an eternity because she took her own life. I can not even wrap my head around that one. I do not know if there is an ongoing investigation. It just broke my heart.
I have shared this with another friend who knew her well. She also stated to me that Karen would "Never" have done that to herself.
I have other clients who have shared thier pain with me here in the studio. I have always made it clear to them, that my house is safe if they need to get away.
