Have you used other machines? It is difficult to say if it is the machine or your handling of it. Even now after 8 machines (three of which I still use,) if I get the wrong angle (usually on the right side working from the left) I occasionally get bruising. I am working more from the right side when working on the left side of the client and it works much better. I do believe that some machines are rougher on the skin than others, though. I could swear I saw one of my machines digging into the skin like a shovel after using my digital, but I have a good friend who uses that very machine and does beautiful work with minimal damage to the skin ;)

I use a German-made digital (there are a couple brands) and a tap-tat-dadio shader and liner. I like the precision and ease on the skin of the digital, but the tap-tat really packs it in. I have never used or heard of the bella, but I really think that if you can master a good-quality average rotary (which is what this sounds like,) you can pick and choose later. I kept thinking it was the machine which is one reason I kept changing. I'm very happy with what I use now, but I think part of the reason I wasn't getting as good results as I could have at first was my skill level. There is no magic machine. Keep checking your angle and stretch.

Hi frostellie
I was looking at the german brands for a new digital, which in particular are you using? You may e-mail me at jadashley@yahoo.com
