I was trained on a coil machine and that's all I've used for two years. I was trained to do lip fills with a #6 flat. I only get so-so results. I had a wonderful mentor that taught me to use a #5 round and just fill the lips by tattooing little circles in small areas until the whole lip was filled. That didn't work great either. I've watched videos and tried those techniques. Just wondering how you guys do your lip fills. Could it be my pigments? I've almost always used one brand but from reading this forum, it seems that the LI line is favored by many of you so I'll be trying that next.

I think I've tried every needle config. there is for lips. I used to use a 7 mag weave for filling but I found there was alot of trauma and a longer healing time. And forget the eleven mag, two weeks healing time is more than most women are willing to go through. I now do all my lips with a 5 round liner and a 5 round shader. I use a zig zag or W motion for filling in and it works great for me. I have virtually no bleeding and very little swelling and the color is always soft and even. I do my lips in three sessions layering color on color until the fill is as solid as I need it to be. I beleive in trauma free tattooing and I know alot of you will disagree, but it works for me and my clients love the quick healing time. I hate when I hear people say that I had my lips done and they were painful and swollen for two weeks. I think it's bad for business and it certainly discourages new clients from coming in.

Just the opposite for me. I do lots of lips and I used to use round configurations and have switched over to a 7 mag for a couple years now with a lot of success. Very little trauma for me. Maybe it's the Neo Tat? Maybe it's because I have softened out my stretch a bit? I have no idea, I just know it works for me. stupid typo edit.

I use a 5 or an 8 round or a 7 mag for lips. I used to use a 3 but have noticed under the 60x pro-loupe magnifier that the 3 scars the skin quite a bit. i've noticed much healthier lip tissue since switching to the larger configurations. yesterday we did a lip fill with a 7 mag/Neo and while i did see some swelling, i believe it was more due to the fact she still had some filler in them thar lips. ---------- Liza Sims www.cosmetictattoo.com LIPigments US Distributor Wake Up with Makeup ALASKA 907-561-3937
