I was just wondering if any of you had a good way to store your photos somewhere besides your computer. I print one photo and store the image on my computer but the pictures are taking up too much room on my computer and I'd like to find a better way to catalog them. Any suggestions?

I actually have Picasa on my desktop but I like to move my photo back ups off of it. I like it a lot, too! It stores EVERYTHING - even the graphics from games!

OMG i hate picasa. it takes over. i think terrorists sent it. yes, maggie, it certainly does store everything..with absolutely no rhyme nor reason. good luck with that. I use their online storage, but oh dear heavens after getting my hard drive tangled in that hot mess i took its photo storage off my puter. it was like the old cassette tapes you know that come unwound--theres like NO END to it.

I bought an external hard drive from amazon.com for like $90 - treated myself. It has 160 gigabytes (capable of saving up to 45,000 pictures). Works with mac or windows. I chose the WD Passport. It is the size of a small address book (3" x 5" x 3/4" thick) and usb powered - no separate power supply needed. Just plug it into the usb port. I got it because I have pics on two different computers at my spa plus the one at home. I can't afford to buy a new computer every year or two, so I have limited space on my hard drives. I am absolutely paranoid that I will lose some of this valuable stuff - some are pics of my beloved daughter and dog - I would keel over if those pics were lost! jp ----------

Thanks for all the answers. I wish there was just a real easy way to keep all of this straight. It would be nice to have a software program that was specifically made for PM. I know there are some that you could use but I'd like to see one you could use with an external hard drive so you could unplug it and take it wherever you need. I'm sure it will be expensive if anyone ever comes up with one.
