I've watched a couple of documentaries on the surgery centers there. However the ones I saw specialized in gender re-assignment......not interested in that. LOL I think I'm with LiZa on this one. I want to be able to see Dr. again if necessary. Hollis

Wendy, Now really... I don't know everything, but I am fortunate to have the connections to be able to find stuff out, and know a lot of reliable and smart people that know lots of stuff that they are, gratefully, willing to share with me. ---------- Be well and beautiful, :)udy judy@facecrafter.com www.facecrafter.com 941-351-1333 RevitaLash! I have a neighbor who is going to Thailand with her sister for tummy tucks at the end of the month sometime. When she gets back, I'll ask about her experience and report back. I'm itching to travel and get some work done too! I'd love to get some of those names from you sometime too, Judy.

Worked with a client within the past six months from germany who went to costa rica for botox...ended up with lumpy pockets on the areas that were injected...had to have surgery to remove the lumps. She wanted me to put in some hair strokes in one brow that had a scar left from one of the incisions made to remove a lump of something in that brow...and no hair grew back. She's back in Germany now but checks in with me ever so often. I'd prefer to check in with a doc from the good ole USA...perhaps someone from 90210...

i'm sorry, i know i have not seen everyone but all that i have seen come out of thailand as far as plastic surgery is mediocre at the very best, some downright icky. People ususally dont know what to look for in good or bad plastic surgery, I have an extensive education in skin and the face lifts that i see coming from the 3rd worlds are 'instant lifts' or Cinderella lifts I call them. They undo in about 5 years. Its because they are not working on the substrate..yeah it looks good at first, but ...oh well I could go on but you get my drift.... no, i would not put my face in the hands of thailand. now, i will admit i have seen some good dentistry come from thailand. costarica, i've seen some very good work. venezuala also. I personally would no more go to india than shoot my own self in the leg. i believe the sun and moon rise from dr. curtis schalit and if he doesnt perform it, i would trust his referral. just my thoughts, feelings, observations and experience.

We can't paint the whole world with one brush. Not even a whole country for that matter. We all know that individuals do work, not countries nor equipment. You can get bad work anywhere, but that doesn't make that city, or country, place a bad place to go altogether. I have specific people to recommend for stuff, who happen to live in other countries. I also know that certain places are known to have some good facilities. You have to do your research, and you have to be good at that research, and know your sources. I am very confused about one posting here however. Botox (a muscle relaxer) produced 'lumps' that needed to be removed?? Not that I can imagine. Did you mean some osrt of filler? And it had to be a non-hyaluronic acid filler (not Restylane, Perlane or Juvederm) because eventually those et fully re-absorbed into the body. Can you explain? ---------- Be well and beautiful, :)udy judy@facecrafter.com www.facecrafter.com 941-351-1333 RevitaLash! Get Longer-Thicker-Darker Lashes. And, fill in Brows too!

Well, what a lot of comments! I've never been in a chat room before so in some ways I'm impressed i.e quantity, but didn't find many (any?) comments particularly useful.. Anyway, for an update, I'm now in Phuket and went to my first appointment at the PIAC Hospital. It turned out to be with a Unit Manager, not a doctor, nor was her English that brilliant. I stressed that I needed to speak with somebody who could give me appropriate advice and said that I'd thought my appointment was with a surgeon. She said she was very experienced so I asked her what she thought I needed - liposuction around my jawline? facelift? mini facelift? chinlift only? She told me I could have anything I wanted, but couldn't decide for me .... Then she went and got this English guy and I told him what had happened. I also told him I was getting a second opinion. He asked me who from and I told him Dr V. The upshot was that they would have referred me to Dr V anyway and charged me for doing so!! Anyway I'm off to see Dr V tomorrow and if anyone is interested I'll keep them posted. Toniblue

My father in law lives in Bangkok, Thailand, I'll ask him. His new wife has lived there her whole life. She works in the beauty industry. I'll see what she has to say.

Well, this is all they had to say: The Plastic Surgeons at Bumrungrad hospital are supposed to be good. It is a world certified hospital. Like with anything, ya gotta check it out yourself. Do your own research and be an informed consumer.
