Hi,

I've spent hours and have gone 20 pages back and cant seem to find the posts about pay scales....sorry to have to ask this question, but my MD boss wants me do research on what would be a "fair" compensation when I am finally trained to do PM at his office.

I get 50% right now on spa services, 40% on chem peels, etc. So on a PM procedure where I am doing the work, what should his cut be (BTW, I pay my own taxes and insurance too)

Thanks,

MaryT

judy has some good info on this, but she is in las vegas now as the revitalash rock superstar.

who will be paying for advertising?? thats a biggie.
will they come because of the existing practice??

i think jude pays something like 15% is she brings them in anhd 30% if the office brings them in.

wait til she gets back and you can hear it from her instead of this 'hags' paraphrasing. ((thnks a lot brandy))LOL

Doctor will be doing most of the advertising...he is doing TV commercials, yellow pages, etc for all of our services. He is a great boss and wants me to do well. I would be happy paying him 30% of every PM tx to cover supplies and advertising.

Thanks,

Mary

Hi Mary-
I'm back-
15% if I bring in the client- 30% if the client comes in because of their advertising or their office referring them to me.
But- I buy my own supplies, and I do a lot of my own advertising as well, so that has to be taken into account.

And the road ends with the first client. If they send me a referral from their advertising or their office, the first one gets 30%. If she sends a friend- that's my client not theirs and they only get 154% of the friend.

Hope that helps-

I work for a plastic surgeon and we split 50/50 and he pays for everything. Now i did have my own business and was well estalished before working with him but... Sometimes I think I want more.

Maybe consider a set dollar amount per client. That way the Dr is compensated and you feel like you are getting your fair share for your hard work and expertise. Come up with an agreeable amount proir to beginning and also consider touch-ups. I pay him on their initial visit but not at a touch-up visit since I am not charging at that visit. I am including 2 touchups within 1 year of their procedure. Possibly consider what you would have to pay at another place for leasing space and maybe pay him per client up to a certain amount. I am new at this also and this has worked for us.

I wouldn't split 50/50 with a doc unless he gave ME 50% of his business when I brought a patient to HIM. And yes, I bring them in to them as well. Fair's fair.
